ACFI Policy and Guidelines

This policy includes the measures we are actively taking to mitigate the spread of coronavirus. You are kindly requested to follow all these rules diligently, to sustain a healthy and safe venue in this unique environment. It’s important that we all respond responsibly and transparently to these health precautions.

This policy is subject to change and updates without prior notice.  Seeing as the guidelines, measures and restrictions of the pandemic change continually, and in some cases drastically, please check back regularly for any changes that may occur.

This policy applies to all of our staff, volunteers and attendees of the ACFI who physically come to the function to participate or assist in the successful running of all convention events.  This includes following the guidelines and measure put into place by the Marriott Plaza Hotel and/or the CDC.  This policy is not meant to replace any other policies in place by the venue Hotel and/or the CDC.

*ACFI Covid-19 Policy Amendment (30 August 2021)

  • Negative COVID-19 Test Required

    • We will be requiring a negative COVID-19 Test for all staff and attendees. Said test will be required to be administered within 72 hours before the convention stars. (October 05, 2021). If you do not wish to provide a negative COVID-19 test, then you may voluntarily show a state or medical-issued proof of vaccine as a acceptable substitute.

  • Masks will be required

    • We understand that this may be difficult for some, but to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the CDC has advised us to wear a mask indoors and/or in crowded places.  When wearing a mask, please be sure to have it cover both your nose
and mouth. “Half Masking” will not prevent transmission of the virus, therefore, it isn’t recommended.

  • Social Distance

    • The CDC advises that everyone stay at least six feet of distance from each other. Keeping a distance is heavily encouraged because it helps lower the risk for people who are at a higher risk of getting sick.

  • Wash Your Paws (Hands)

    • Be sure to wash your paws (Hands) with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after being in a public space, blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. If soap and water are not available, use a hand sanitizer that has at least 60% alcohol.  Sanitation stations will be placed in various locations around the convention.

  • Avoid Unnecessary Contact

    • Avoid touching your face, specifically your eyes, nose, and snout (mouth), with unwashed hands.

  • Cough/sneeze into your sleeve, preferably into your elbow

    • If you use a tissue, dispose of it properly and clean/sanitize your hands immediately.

  • Monitor your health

    • If you are showing any symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough, shortness of breath, etc.), we ask that you please do not attend the convention for the safety of yourself and others.

  • Get Vaccinated!

    • Please get vaccinated when eligible to! It is heavily encouraged that if you are not vaccinated, that you go out and do so! It helps stop the spread and potential developments of any other variants.

  • Exposure

    • If you have recently been around or in close contact with anyone displaying or as having Covid-19 or any of its related symptoms or are coming from an area with unusually high cases (based on CDC announcements) please stay home.
